COLLEGE EDGE PARTNERED PATH TO COLLEGE TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

Both parents and students must understand the commitment they have made to participate in a College Edge program. A copy of these will be provided during onboarding.

  • Students are expected to communicate directly with College Edge/their assigned counselor. Students are given ample opportunity to schedule and reschedule sessions, but they hold the ultimate responsibility to attend and to communicate.

  • Families are expected to provide a complete academic history including transcripts, rank in class (if available), score reports from standardized testing, and any psychological testing that may be appropriate for college advising purposes.

  • Students are expected to take responsibility for their own college process by staying engaged, showing initiative, making decisions, and meeting deadlines.

  • Students must:

    • Arrive prepared for each meeting with the requested materials and completed tasks. It is the client’s responsibility to review materials provided by the advisor including assignments, appointment reminders, newsletters and other curriculum materials. All primary correspondence is conducted via email and text is reserved only for meeting cancellations and other in-the- moment needs.

    • Maintain high standards of integrity in the college process. All writing for college applications must be the student’s own original work, throughout the writing and editing process.

    • Maintain communication with your high school counselor and follow the requests of the high school guidance office.

    • Take all actions required for college applications: Send official test scores to colleges. Secure academic and personal recommendations. Send transcripts. Submit applications. Sign up for interviews. Check student portals. Apply for financial aid and/or scholarships. Monitor the status of college applications and advise colleges of enrollment intentions.

Confidentiality: All course information, techniques and material are the property of College Edge and may not be reproduced by any method. All student and family information is confidential and will not be shared with individuals outside of College Edge.

Refunds: Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Parents and students must submit their refund request in writing.

Right to Terminate Enrollment: College Edge reserves the right to terminate the enrollment of any student who behaves in a manner that is disorderly, disrespectful or otherwise disruptive to the learning environment. College Edge also reserves the right to terminate the enrollment of any student who fails to meet the schedules and deadlines set by the staff of College Edge. No refunds are issued to terminated students.

Professional Ethics and Standards: College Edge will make every good faith effort, using our knowledge and expertise, to effectively assist the student with the college application process. However, college admissions and financial aid are unpredictable processes. We cannot predict or promise that a student will be admitted to any college to which s/he decides to apply, nor can we predict or promise that a student will be offered financial aid or scholarships. The final responsibility for completing and submitting applications, meeting requirements, and complying with college deadlines lies with the student and the family. Neither AP PREP LLC (d/b/a College Edge), nor its counselors individually can be held responsible or accountable for which schools accept or reject a student's applications based upon academic record and personal achievements.

College Edge advisors abide by the Standards and Ethics Statement of HECA and/or IECA and are informed by NACAC’s Code of Ethics & Professional Practices (statements provided at time of contract). College Edge will not support any application materials that are knowingly false or do not represent the student’s own work.
